Ingredients required- 5 coconuts and 7 cups of water.
Method

- Chop the pieces roughly to break them into medium-sized pieces.
- Now add some of the coconut pieces to a blender along with some water. Blend for 1-2 minutes in batches.
- After this step, you will see that coconut milk has started forming.
- Repeat this step in batches to use up all the coconut and water.
- Once everything is blended, strain the mixture through a muslin cloth to separate coconut milk from coconut pulp.
- Pour the coconut milk into a pot and keep it on low flame.
- After some time you will notice that the coconut milk will begin to turn crumbly in texture and might form some lumps. This is completely normal. Just make sure you stir the milk in between.
- Keep the flame low and let the milk cook. After some time you will notice that oil has started separating from the solids. This might take more than 1 hour.
- Once the oil has separated completely, turn off the flame and let it cool down a bit.
- Now strain the oil into a glass jar.
- Coconut oil is now ready to be used.
