Find that perfect dress according to your body type-complete guide

Have you ever come across that sparkly and beautiful dress on the mannequin in an outlet full of lights that are in your face? That one dress that makes you feel like you can live all your childhood Cinderella dreams. So, you finally decide to go to the store and try it on only to find out that it looks nothing like you pictured in your mind (really sorry but your Cinderella dreams got shattered again!). Do you Wanna know what went wrong? Easy! because it’s not your body type. And most of us are oblivious to these basics. Don’t worry you don’t have to let go of those dreams again because your author has got you covered. I did a little digging and I’m here to share it with you.

Let’s start from the top and dig our way in. hope on!

Determine your body shape -with measurements Your body silhouette determines your body type. Firstly, determining your vitals is more important than understanding your body type. Tips – you can use cloth tape instead of a metal one because it’s more efficient. The tape should neither be too snug nor too loose, to acquire the most accurate measure.

SHOULDER

It’s very tricky to measure your shoulders because it’s tricky to hover the tape while keeping it intact. Now, this is where having a friend around comes in handy (just kidding). They can help you to properly measure your shoulders from both ends. This way, you get the measurements of the widest point of your shoulders.

Bust

It’s better to stand while measuring your bust. Start by placing the tape from the fullest part of your bust and around your shoulders to bring it back to where you started. Congrats you now have your bust size.

Waist

While measuring your waist don’t slouch or pull up your stomach, just stand straight. Start from the slimmest part of your waist above your belly button and below your rib cage, this is your natural waistline. You can alter this measure if you are someone who wears their cloth below your belly button.

 Hips

You need to measure the circumference of the fullest part of your buttocks to get the measure of your hips. Start with one side of the hip and take it from the rear towards the other hip. Bring it back to the starting point. Do this exercise in front of the mirror, so you know the tape is leveled throughout.

HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR BODY TYPE AND DRESS ACCORDINGLY? -

THE BODY SHAPE GUIDE

To put it in simple words, your body type is the outline of your body. Thus, having a thorough understanding of your body type not only helps you in mapping out your outfits but also helps in tweaking them in a way that fits your style and personality. The idea is to make sure that the dresses we choose flatter our body type and in turn, enhance our looks for an even better-looking silhouette. Just to clear the fact that you being short, tall, slender, curvy, etc., do not determine your body type but your body parts do.

HOW TO DRESS FOR YOUR BODY TYPE -5 DIFFERENT TYPES

1. APPLE BODY SHAPE

You will fall under this apple-shaped figure when you have a heavier upper body in comparison to your lower part of the body. People with this body type usually have broad shoulders, bigger bust line, and that’s why it feels like the weight gathers around the midriff.

  • The midriff appears heavier than the remaining body with a minimal waistline since most of the weight is concentrated above the hips. So, the idea is to try and take the attention away from that specific part and instead flaunt your legs or wear deep v necklines that help to create an elongated illusion of the torso.
  •  What not to wear when you have an apple-shaped body? Try your level best to avoid figure-hugging dresses or tops with skinny jeans as they make them more visible.

 2. HOURGLASS BODY SHAPE

You know when you’re an hourglass body shape, and so will the others. This body type is the most balanced of all with a proportionate top and bottom part of the body with a well-defined waistline. So, when you look for dresses, choose the ones that do just that for you. It is a body to die for, so flaunt it and in the right way
